Like the other reviews the buckles are cumbersome, but they are gladiator shoes so that's to be expected. One of the reviewers said the shoes look cheap I totally disagree with that statement. The thickness of the heel is just right. Overall the shoe is simply beautiful. Just to be on the safe side, I had purchased some gel insoles because in my opinion being in high heels for long periods of time would warrant the extra added comfort. Let me also state that I normally don't wear heels above 2 1/2 inches. However, when I had seen this particular shoe it actually resonated with me. I'm particular about having shoes to compliment my outfits. Being in the publishing industry I'm often attending various functions that presents an opportunity to be photographed.
