Nine shimmied and vamped its way in to theaters on Christmas day. More than the storyline, the Italian scenery, architecture, and the cabaret-style performances captivated my attention. I left the theater with an intense desire to makeover my abode in a sultry style, reminiscent of burlesque performances: Perhaps trade a vase of flowers for a vase of over-sized feathers or add accents of tassels and luxurious velvet.
We suspect the gorgeousness of this movie might just inspire a new design trend in 2010 that embraces rich hues, ornate Italian furniture, and "come-hither" accents. Channeling Penelope Cruz's vivacious performance, we've compiled a slideshow of burlesque-style décor that will add the feeling of luxury and famous Italian sex appeal to any bedroom.
