Would You Use Bold Floral Wallpaper?

When I think about floral wallpaper, I instantly think of my childhood (and very ‘80s) bedroom. But flower prints are coming back in a big way in décor—from upholstered pieces to bedding to wall coverings. In fact, the folks at Graham and Brown have incorporated several stylish, eye-popping flower-themed designs (like the teal print shown here) in their latest wallpaper collection, Elixir.

So tells us: Would you wallpaper a room in bold florals?

  • my husband and I were discussing this exact topic the other day- I was showing him some amazing floral print as we are starting out fresh this year when we purchase our home- he said it reminds him of his mom's style and I do somewhat agree BUT this is an example of how gorgeous floral can look. For me, if its bold enough and not too busy, it can work -it's all about how you accessorize the rest of the room accordingly Report Spam Posted by sweetshorty at 10:38 AM on 01/22/11

  • @sweetshorty - i totally agree about have the right accessories! I think if you have a bold floral print, you could accent it with modern pieces (i.e., mirrored and Lucite furniture) and possibly add a single shabby-chic piece...like a candelabra or chandelier. • This is absolutely stunning, ordinarily I would say no to floral wall paper, but obviously with good colors and great accessories it can be pulled off in a major way! Report Spam Posted by isabelsive at 12:41 PM on 01/24/11

  • Love it! Report Spam Posted by lynnie482 at 1:01 PM on 01/26/11

  • Why not? Wallpaper with big bold pattern has been on its way back for a quite some time especially when used on one feature wall. A striking wallpaper design when used appropriately really can give a room that all-important lift and make it look a lot less ordinary than it would otherwise. On any design projects on which I work wallpaper is one of the most critical elements I employ to give the scheme individuality. Some of the really cool designs I have used lately I have found in the designer wallpaper section from www.wallpaperking.co.uk. Report Spam Posted by samanthapink at 5:30 PM on 05/11/11
