I feel one with the Russian people. No, I am not Russian. But I’m fascinated by the illustrious history of the Romanov dynasty, enjoy watching old films of Ballets Russes, lust after Faberge eggs, and feel an affinity for a people with such a love of vodka. But more than any of these, I love Russian nested dolls, also known as Matryoshka dolls. American designer Thomas Paul must think these precious pods are something special, too.
