It is made from low-fire earthenware, burnished, and finished on the outside with multiple layers of pigmented wax. While it is intended to be sculptural, rather than functional, please note that a coat of glaze on the interior allows it to also serve in a utilitarian manner as well. Color may very slightly due to the color calibration of each individual monitor. Like all primitively fired work i.e. Raku, pit fired and sagger fired, this piece is a fragile, non-functional piece and should be handled carefully and not exposed to water or strong light. It is suitable for dry flowers and other materials. You may insert a plastic or glass liner for cut flowers.
