Revival spielt in der Liga der besten Creedence-Alben und ist mindestens auf Augenhöhe mit dem Grammy-prämierten Album Blue Moon Swamp. Vor allem die Stimme von Mr. CCR ist überragend - nicht mehr ganz so scharf, aber immer noch unverkennbar. Nachfolgend ist meine persönliche Rangfolge der Revival-Songs dargestellt: 1. Longshot Für mich der Hammer-Rocksong, auf einer Stufe mit Rockin all over the world. Ultrageile Lyrics - für Formulierungen wie z. B. "... tell me little mama, why you jump in my claim" kann ich nur den Hut ziehen! 2. Gunslinger Tolle, eingängie Melodie, treffende und durchdachte Lyrics, schönes Gitarrensolo, einer der besten Songs von John (inkl. der Creedence- Songs)! 3. Schließlich hat sich Led-Zeppelin-Frontmann Plant als lautstarker Shouter im Hardrock-Genre einen Namen gemacht, wohingegen Krauss als Mitglied von Union Station und solo mit zart gewisperten Bluegrass-Gesängen reüssierte. Und ausgerechnet diese so unterschiedlichen Künstler haben sich jetzt für ein gemeinsames Album im Studio getroffen. Da fragt man sich unweigerlich: Passen der 59-jährige Engländer und die 36-jährige Amerikanerin überhaupt zusammen? Die Antwort: hervorragend sogar!
