Through recycling old hardware & inheriting hand-me-down last-gen machines, I find myself accumulating more and more hard drives. This Drive Adapter would be a nifty little tool for testing and doing quick maintenance on these and other people's drives without having to constantly disturb the sensitive inner workings of my primary machine. This is going on my wishlist!

Comments (1)

Art Lebedev & Co. might have thought to perfect the firmware for the $462 Optimus 1.0 before dropping this concept on us. Did anyone else care to think that Optimus Maximus sales are going to tank even further because of this? Considering how long it has taken to bring the Maximus to market, estimate this keyboard to launch sometime in 2011, if at all.

Wow. 2TB of low-energy consuming compact flash memory for under $200? This is a low-tech shortcut solution to an otherwise wildly overpriced marketplace of solid-state hard drives.

Perhaps "low-tech" isn't quite the most appropriate word in any discussion which involves rigging your own SSD out of spare parts, so let's just say "lower tech." =)

With some modern motherboard designs including integrated GPUs onto the same board as the CPU, you may want to invest in an independent graphics card. This add-on reallocates system resources back into two separate independent circuits. This card in particular provides HDMI (High Definition) outputs to ensure maximum resolution of HD media through your machine to an HD display.
