Il libro racconta quel che ha scritto sulle nostre carceri,sulle nostre caserme, sui nostri centri per immigrati dopo le sue due ultime visite in Italia. Viene pubblicata anche la risposta che al Comitato ha dato il Governo italiano. Le istituzioni totali non fanno notizia. Di loro si sa poco , e poco si vuol sapere.
