(01/02/11) An amazing little antique Victorian pin! Please note: This pin is small! My photos are very close up. See following description for measurements. It is tested 10KT gold BUT... I am not convinced that it is all gold! I believe it may be silver with a heavy gold gilt. The pin has a single foiled back paste stone. There is very detailed engraving around the stone as well as black taille d' epergne enamel work. It is engraved 1873 on the back of the pin. Condition: ***The paste stone is very cloudy and shows some wear.*** Even thought the stone has clouded...this is still an amazing little pin! The pin stem looks to be silver and did not test gold. There is a simple C clasp and tube type hinge. All in working order. Measurements: 1 & 1/4" by 3/8" Weight: Heavy for it's size, weighing in at 4.4 grams. The pendant of the piece is a large golden circle that has been has been wrapped in alternating bands of 14k yellow gold and pink 14k rose gold. A large (18mm) puffed lentil of Prasiolite (green Amethyst) is surrounded by a collection of purple Tanzanite, Rose Quartz, royal blue Kyanite, violet Ametyst, Mystic Blue Topaz, Swiss Blue Topaz and white Moonstone. The pendant is attached to a long chain of candy-colored faceted Sapphire rondelles and solid 18k yellow gold. Barrels of Lemon Quartz accent.
