If you are in the mood for vegetarian Vietnamese food, you have to go here. Okay, so it's a pretty specific craving, but the food here is really good. It looks kinda like a buffet style place when you walk in (apparently because they have a lunch buffet) but don't let that deter you, the rest of the place is pretty nice. My girlfriend is half Vietnamese (the half that likes to eat :p), she turned me on to this place, whenever i'm in the area, i make a point to stop in. See less

Mmmmm bumping this review up a star, I came here last night after the boyfriend and I had a case of the munchies (the non-drug related kind). Since it was a slow night, I could tell they put more care into making our tacos, everything was perfect about my super carne asada taco and that lovely bottle of orange sauce! Oh and I'm happy to report there were no explosions in the morning, maybe I just have an iron stomach when it comes to Mexican food! See less

G: we came here during "black ball" day or something along those lines in which hard objects are not allowed in the coastline or water. sucks because we came out to santa cruz specifically for skimboarding. Luckily, a bit of a walk led us to a green flag that gave us the thumbs up for skimboarding, but alas I am not adept at this sport and did not like this beach's waves at all. In the area where we CoULD skimboard, the skim wasn't flat and the water retracts back rather fast. It's not such a good beach for beginner skimboarders, maybe more professional ones but they were struggling to catch the waves as well. It's a nice friendly beach though, very sunny, and parking is easier to find here than at the boardwalk. See less

It is an amazing place but you definitely get the feeling they want to pay it off in a hurry and make a big profit by the way they cram people in and the cost to eat there. If you really want to see everything, you have to arrive early and spend hours there. See less

Been to the top several times over the years. There are two ways to go up: THE OHLONE SIDE: You park in the Ohlone College parking lot then catch the trail in back of the school. You walk along the face of the hills facing the bay, then work your way through a pass and switchback and forth until you get to the top of the foothills -- then walk along the top of the foothills before making a push to the peak itself. THE "WENTE" SIDE: This is over by Vineyard street. For this one, you walk straight up the face of the hill. Of the two, this approach is more difficult because the incline's pretty steep less than 15 minutes in. Can't believe there are people bitching about anything about these trails -- such as them being hot and dusty on hot and dry days (well, duh), a lack of shade (um, we're in California, you know) or that you're bored because there isn't much to look at (guess you must've missed the Disney animals in top hats tap dancing for your entertainment -- your loss).
