The Miche Race rim is 25mm deep providing a slight aero benefit without the wind drag of a standard box section rim. Notably the rim is slightly heavier then the Axy Connect resulting in it spinning up out of corners a little slower. The Race rim is matted to their lightweight CNC 7075 Aluminum hub using standard black stainless steel spokes. The front rim gets a standard 20 radial spokes - fairly standard. If you watch the 2007 Giro d’Italia you saw them climb it in stage 7, where the group finished up hill. The climb averages an 11.5% grade for 6 miles, and has heart pounding 20% grade for a half mile in the middle. If you thought there were flat sections to help you rest, there are none. Only one section is less than 4%, making this entirely uphill, and not for the faint of heart. Though no official release from San Marco would indicate that this saddle is intended solely for climbing you cannot overlook the name.
