Jay and April originally met in Huntington Beach, CA in 2003 through their mutual friends Tim and Lisa. After high school Jay lived in Humboldt County in Northern California for 7 years, and then moved back to Southern California in 2003. In 2004, after her trip around the world, April moved to Humboldt. Jay returned to Humboldt in 2005 and they renewed their friendship. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In March, 2006 they started dating and became very close after April was in a life changing accident in July 2006. Jay purchased a home in Arcata in November 2006 and by February 2007, April moved in with Jay. They adopted Mara, their beautiful black lab/saluki dog, and became very domestic fixing up their home and gardening. They love living among the redwood trees and next to the coast and have a tight network of friends. Jay and April enjoy being part of a community that is artistic and environmentally aware. Together, they play soccer, volleyball, surf, beach comb and love going out to listen to music. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . On April 19, 2010 - in Jay’s words, “I decided to make sure she would be mine for eternity, so I proposed to her overlooking the ocean at Patrick’s Point State Park.” The rest of “our story” is still in the making. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
