(11/12/11) An unusual, eyecatching brooch! I've decoupaged onto a solid wooden brooch a favorite piece from my treasure trove of Japanese stamps and trimmed the edges to give a sleek, modern feel. I have hundreds of Japanese stamps: some vintage, some new, some crazy, some classical and some kawaii as anything! Most have distinctive postmarks adding interest to their beauty, and all are miniature works of art, ensuring that your brooch will be totally one of a kind! This one features a lovely natural history book style illustration of an otter! These are lovely, chunky yet not overpowering pieces (measuring 1 1/2 inches by 1 inch) and look great on a lapel, on a bag, on a plain top or however you wish to wear them! They are varnished and are water resistant but not waterproof, so take care! Despite the base being wood, it is light yet sturdy and won't drag at clothes. He is set off with a Swarovski crystal and Bali silver daisy. A flower, of pressed glass and a Swarovski crystal, dangles above him. Crystal healers credit Hematite with the ability to bring about a calm mental state, improve memory, mental focus and concentration, and bolster self-confidence. It is thought to bestow peace and non-aggression. Some say hematite can heal karmic anger and rage, and heal those who were warriors in past lives and in this life.
