Their features were individually stamped and their shapes were cut by hand, by me. They are made from strong textured white clay and fired to stoneware temperature, so they are strong, despite their delicate forms. What you'll need: * 1 ½ green chenille stems (per flower) * Red craft foam * Scissors * White craft glue or hot glue gun How to make it: * Set aside the ½ chenille stem for a later step. Take the full chenille stem and bend it in half. Starting at the bent end, twist the chenille stem around itself all the way up. When you reach the end trim it to make it even if needed. * Cut out 1” tear drop shapes from the red foam, you will need 7 of these. * Cut out ¾” tear drop shapes from the red foam, you will need 3 of these. * Lay a 1” tear drop on the table, point side down. Maybe, but it doesn't excuse the fact that a flat plane is a terrible way to describe depth. You can get away with it by faking depth with vanishing points and visual tricks of perspective, but it's still just a 2D projection of a 3D concept. Your eyes see depth through parallax. That is, each of your eyes see objects in 3D in a different location. Your brain interprets those different locations and translates them into rough spacial positions. So, if we draw two identical objects on a page with a red and blue tint, then put a red lens on one eye and a blue lens on the other, we can trick your eyes into thinking they are one object floating in space. It's the same process that gave us The Creature From The Black Lagoon in 3D, except what we've got lacks a man in a rubber suit, and is significantly less lame.
