(11/16/08) Spotted on Designer Pages Blog this remarkable chair from a student designer at Copenhagen’s Designskole. Created by Jakob Joergensen the "Barca" chair was formed by sliding around identical boards cut from Ash. The judges at the International Furniture Design Awards in Japan commented: "From the right angle, this piece has a fascinating shape that reminds me of a Viking ship!" Ahhh, and there it is - "Barca" in Spanish means ship. More sculpture than chair, this really catches the eye!See less
