I started collecting non-sports trading cards in 1966 when I was 4 years old. Unfortunately, I didn't take good care of my stuff until I got older. I like collecting all kinds of different items, but prefer stuff that I am easily able to store and find again later, especially small items and paper items. I think that promotional items are very cool most of the time. I'm interested in knowing what's available, even if I can't possibly afford it. As far as promotional items go, I like to look for stuff that is the weirder, the better.
I've jokingly considered opening a business and calling it Vintage Schmintage because collectibles don't have to be old and expensive to be desirable. Too...

All they think about is selling as many as possible or getting as much money as possible for a high dollar item. I understand that they are in business to make money. However, these facts have taken a lot of the enjoyment out of collecting.
