    • I had a pair of these when I was 12 years old and I wore them everywhere. They lasted two summers, and by the end of the second summer the toe rubber was cracked, the fabric was torn, faded, stained... the soles almost worn through. They smelled alarming (after being worn barefoot in creeks and up trees and in dirt and mud and lakes...) And I still had a hard time parting with them. I just re-discovered them after thinking they'd been impossible to find, and they still fit and feel exactly the same way they did when I was 12.
