Bento boxes can be used for more than food, though; they can also hold jewelery, craft items, or small office items like paperclips and rubber bands. The pattern on the lid is based on Japanese ikat fabrics, which have been produced for hundreds of years. In this type of fabric, yarns are dyed only in some areas and then woven on a loom, so the patterns are fuzzy around the edges. The box is a glossy black color with flecks of gold, and the pattern is a bold orangey-red color. Hand washing is recommended.
