I own a writing & editing company, Thinker Extraordinaire, LLC and love Bauhaus design. I am constantly seeking to find items that add intrinsic value to my life through beauty, form and function. The challenge, to me, exists in the many choices we are presented through the daily onslaught of advertisements trying to convince us that someone else has better taste and judgment when it comes to our own lives. Our calculated ability to sift through these ads, take what works with our own spirits and create a unique style in the process, allows us a discovery of living essentials-one not dictated by board members or accounting gurus. The educated consumer can escape from being a marketing target and emerge a victorious individual with quality and value added to one's life at the end of the day. I am convinced there is a happy and simple medium, where good taste prevails over gaudy, and where Coco Chanel's words can be a mantra and not just a quip: Luxury lies not in the richness of things, but the absence of vulgarity
