THIS WILL FIT A BUST MEASUREMENT OF UP TO 49 INCHES, AND A WAIST MEASUREMENT OF UP TO ABOUT 35. IT IS MEANT TO FIT LOOSELY AND TO BE WORN UNDER MY LOVELY CORSETS. IT IS CAP SLEEVED AND HIP LENGTH. *THERE IS A RIBBON TIED AROUND THE RIB, SO IT HAS SOME SHAPE! NORMALLY, THESE ARE WORN UNDER CORSETS. *Believe it or not, it took me years to work up this pattern. It seems simple enough, but if you saw how Simplicity and McCalls butcher perfectly good peasant blouse patterns, you would understand. The sleeves are always way too poofy, or they fit like t-shirt sleeves, and it takes an eternity to thread the elastic into this huge neckline and suck it in so it gathers. After endless sleepless nights, I finally figured out how to work it! Instead of threading the elastic through this huge neckline, I actually stretch the elastic and sew it right to the fabric, which makes for perfectly even gathers, and it allows for a closer fitting, sleeker blouse.
