2480 - 2002 Cabernet...

See this at: hollywoodandvineinc....| Added on 11/16/05

Cabernet anyone? What we love about the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is that it is even better than the 2001. Is that possible, you say? In many respects, the 2002 vintage was a repeat of the 2001…but with more sex-appeal, power, and intensity.

This is one of my favourite cabs, very soft, great fruit, no aftertaste or harsh tannins...I could drink a bottle all to myself...in fact I have!

This is one of our favorite wines. It is a good wine to serve with Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

It has that oaky, smooth finish. Fantastic! I still have 1 bottle left.

Smooth, warming and no after taste!

Can't beat it really.

looks mysterious....

You can't beat a good Cab on a Sunday afternoon

I know next-to-nothing about wine -- I choose by the appearance of the label/bottle! ;-)

The 2480 Cabernet was really exceptional -- Thanks guys!

I was given a bottle of this by a friend who told me he thought it better than the 2480...a testament indeed. I have yet to taste it.

I have a 1999 that my wife bought that we've been keeping. Such a great full bodied wine, I hope the 2001 keeps the tradition. Wine spectator rates the 2002 as #1 for 2005!

Love this wine!

I tasted this wine last Saturday. It is amazing, but probably not worth the price (around $170 per bottle).

My parents own a wine shop and Insignia hands down is a good wine. I am pretty sure that the '01 vintage was really good as well

don't know the other 2 choices, but the 2001 Insignia is superb

Choose this because it is simply the best. Once decanted, the Insignia will blow your mind. Pairs well with steaks!

Pinotage is a varietal specific to South Africa, I had the fortune to come across it on a business trip and a friend I made while there gave me a 1983 KWV Pinotage to take home. It was fabulous wine...very distinctive, quite different from what you may have tried before. Recommend you try a Pinotage today!

Our local wine shop introduced us to the 1998 Rutherford Red a year back, it was less than $30 then and for the price was an exceptional buy. A soft wine without any harsh after taste, you could drink a bottled without feeling your mouth dry out.

I really like the Tandem, a great Pinot, light and fruity.

2003 Pinots are exceptional. Keefer Ranch's 2003 is one of the best.

I love many varietals, but an exceptional pinot may top the lists.

but I'm biased as this is the onle one I've tasted

The 2001 was a legendary wine in our local wine shop in Daville, hope the 2002 is as good...given they've sold out I guess it is!

Had a bottle over the weekend, recommend letting it sit for an hour or so before drinking, it mellows out nicely.

I do like the Rutherford and look forward to trying your suggestions. I'm suprised you don't include a Freemark Abbey in your list. All of their Cabs are great, but a must try is their 1991 or 1998 Boshe Cabernet and the '95 Sycamore Cabernet. Great list, Thanks!
