(09/07/11) These are the best rainboots I have ever owned. I have average sized calves, but the very top of the Original Tall boot was too snug to be comfortable with my Hunter Wellie socks. Without the socks, it fits nicely. Definitely buy these as long as you don't intend on also fitting skinny jeans and the Wellie Socks in the boot too! If you have a larger, more athletic calf, these boots will not fit comfortably! The other reviews are correct in that the sizing runs large. I am usually a 9 and have a wide foot, and the 8's fit perfectly and are not narrow at all. **If you're set on the socks, I also bought a pair in London, where the selection of Hunter styles is much larger than in the States, and they have a Tall Original with an adjustable side gusset that allows for much more movement and room in the boot.See less
