The game includes roughly 70 songs. There is an increased emphasis on licensed songs that anyone would recognize - Shout, Centerfold, and Funkytown are but a few of the older ones. More modern include a trance rendition of "Heaven is a place on Earth" and Hillary Duff's "Come Clean". There are about 20 of these. Noticeably absent are the "repeats" that were present in other DDR games. There is also a lot less emphasis on trance/techno songs than in other versions. The step-charting is greatly improved over prior versions. 7 and 8 feet songs can be challenging without using long sprints of 16 or 32 notes - there are more "irregular patterns" that still go with the beat, but are not just endless streams of 4/8 notes.
