(11/14/09) When we set out to make these jeans, we couldn't find a suitable organic cotton denim fabric with the requisite purity on the market. Most either had polyester, latex, spandex, nylon, or objectionable dyes in them, or were woven in China or India, which may have not-so-stringent organic certification and labor standards standards. So we wove our own special 100% organic cotton denim fabric from cotton organic-certified by IMO of Switzerland, a prestigious third-party certifier. The result is a charismatic yarn-dyed organic denim with a beautiful hand. Made in Europe by Rawganique under sweatshop-free conditions. No heavy metals or harsh chemicals whatsoever were used in their production.
