(11/11/07) This charming bracelet of sterling silver features the first word in Hebrew, bereshit, "in the beginning," of the Second Rabbinic Bible, printed in Venice in 1525, with the orchid and foliate engraving derived from the margin and page decorations of the same volume, which is in the collection of The New York Public Library's Dorot Jewish Division. The lettering is on a slightly curved band and the double chain on either side is delicately fashioned, with a simple but safe rod-and-ring clasp. It's a perfect gift for any beginning: marriage, birth, adoption, graduation, promotion. In The Beginning Bracelet is made especially for The Library Shop from a design in the Library's collection; of sterling silver, 7" long overall. back to NYPL Exclusives | back to Dorot Jewish Division | back to Library Exhibitions | back to Jewelry | Library Shop Home See less
