ACP provides artisans with design, marketing, training and technical services as well as fair wages and many other social and physical benefits. Initiated in 1984 with the help of donor support, ACP began with 38 artisans and 5 staff, but today has developed into a fully self-sustaining and environmentally sustainable enterprise with 60 staff and over 1,200 artisans across 15 districts of Nepal. ACP has two retail outlets, called Dhukuti; one in Kathmandu and the other in Pokhara. With 90% of their artisans being women from various low income backgrounds of all ethnicities, ACP is truly making an impact in the lives of Nepali people by providing them with the steady employment they need.
