They open and close like a spring and self lock, with no extra wire sticking out for your hair to tangle with. Earwire is standard size for a traditional piercing. Dress them up or down, and wear them daily. As simple as they are, they quickly become a favorite. My plastic model is small, and makes the earrings look a little bigger than they really are.
