(05/05/11) This is fashioned from ivory lightweight raw silk and lined in taffeta. This is a couture quality garment with attention to details. The dress features a fitted bodice with an off shoulder, scalloped neckline with a sparkling decollete of Alencon lace and iridescent sequins. This has capped sleeves and a faux "basque" waist. The calf length skirt has tiny pleats at the side waist in the fashion of Madame Gres' incredible dress of 1950 as shown below. This reminds me of large panniers to the side as the hips are puffed with tulle to emphasize this detail. The skirt is voluminous...it is so massive, yards of fabric was used to create this beauty! I have shown this with a full brial hoop for presentation. The dress closes at the back with a self fabric covered buttons as shown below. This is a formidable garment...worthy of a royal wedding :o)See less
