Well, I finally made the pattern, and here is my modern military cap. The style is adorable, and wonderfully comfortable. Being a non-conformist, I wanted a cap that was my own...don't get me wrong I love newsboys, and driving caps, but this is my design...not someone elses. This one is made from a black cotton crushed velveteen, lined in black and white gingham cotton. The brim is piped in red, and nicely finished.
