(10/29/09) Number of Reviews: 16 Average Rating: Write a Review Another great set of stories A reviewer, Lover of heroines, 05/28/2007 Almost all of the books I've read have had a male human hero like Robin Hood, Don Juan or King Arthur, but this has yet another female hero, and I like to see and read of this, as well as of animal heroes. Also recommended: Wonderful Stories from Skog Forest, Ronia, The Robber's Daughter, Pippi Longstocking, Pollyanna, White Fang, Old Yeller. my personal L. M. Montgomery library is a hodge-podge of various used and new books. The first one i read was, of course, Anne of Green Gables. At the time,I was in 5th grade, and had just finished reading the LOTR series. I purchased 'Green Gables' at my school book fair and an hour or so later i was sent home sick with the flu. As soon as i was well again, i began avidly searching for any other 'anne' books i could find. That kept me occupied for about another year, i loved those books soooo much i cried when i finished...See less
