› American Greetings this year added 10 anti-Valentine’s Day cards to the roster of 2,500 cards it produces for the holiday. The company decided to add anti-Valentine’s Day cards after noticing last year that more people were holding singles parties or girls’ nights out on what is traditionally a night for couples. It isn't always all about love, girlies. There's a lot more to turn a girls stomach towards V-Day, although it usually does revolve around guys.

Omg when he's on the bleachers singing to her. Ahhhh, so adorable.

I laugh at it. It also has some good music (I bought the soundtrack in high school). Personally my favorite line is the one where Patrick asks one of the other guys "what is it with this chick? She got beer flavored nipples?"

And yes, the bleacher singing is fantastic. I'm amazed you haven't seen it because it's on TV ALL the time.

Lol. I don't watch a whole lot of tv. Only certain things I turn it on for and then off again. told you I'm weird. :) Beer flavored nipples, huh? I don't think I want to go there in public. :) I guess I'll have to see it sometime now to see what it's all about. One of our girlie get togethers so in case I get bored I'll have people to throw popcorn at and stuff. :)

That's probably a really good idea. I think a lot of movies I watch now are ones I watched when I was younger, so I have that "it reminds me of my childhood" (ok, not really this one, but you know what I mean). For example, I adore Goonies because I grew up watching it. My friend saw it a few years ago for the first time and hated it. She thought it was so stupid, but I can quote the entire movie pretty much from start to finish...

You know I only like to watch funny stuff for the most part, but I'm open to most anything, as long as it's not really sad. I don't like things that make me sad. But I don't watch a lot of anything really. I don't like to just sit. I like to be up and about. I'm not hyper, I just like to be active. I don't know that I've ever seen Goonies. I've heard of it though. :) How are you? You've been mia lately. I was concerned.

You should check out Goonies too then. If for no other reason than to get my random references to it. : ) I'm good. I've been pretty busy at work and rather worn out afterwards, so I haven't been around much.

Well, if I'm missing random references than I guess I just have to see it, huh? :)Being worn out isn't good. Unless it's from those trips to the gym. ;)

I've been doing more wokring out at home this week, but yeah. That and Buddha can be draining sometimes - in a good way (if that makes sense!). WE've been going on lots of walks this week. I'm thinking I may take him to a dog park this weekend and let him run around and play with other dogs. We'll see. I don't make tons of references to it anymore, but some. : )

We have a cute lil dog park at our place but I'd be afraid to take Pearl. She loves the boys!!!!! She's definitely not a shy one.

Good for you!! I'm happy for you. And the dog walking thing is good for you too. I like to walk and jog and always think I'd feel safer with a dog. I don't know. Kitty would certainly get jealous. But the doggie park sounds like a lot of fun. :) I think he would like that...although I have no idea how strange dogs would interact with each other.I'm all messed up and keep thinking it's Thursday for some reason. It's the weekend and I have no plans. I have to fix that here at lunch time. :)

I've been a day ahead of myself all week. Tuesday felt like Wednesday, Wednesday felt like Thursday. Geex, even today feels like it should be tomorrow...Maybe it's just wishful thinking? Buddha goes to doggy day camp pretty often, so I'm not worried about him and how he'd react (he's ALWAYS excited to play with other dogs). I'm more worried about other people and their dogs and their reactions to Buddha.

Lol, Pearl is a flirt. :)

I hate when I get messed up like that. But I'd rather be a day behind than a day ahead. It's great thinking it's Thursday when it's really Friday. :)Doggy camp sounds funny. :) I keep thinking of Arnold and that movie...what was the name of it? Daddy Daycare or something? :)

If it was Daddy Daycare, I haven't seen it... I agree about the day thing. I'd much rather think today was Thursday than Saturday.

Well I'm all messed up. Daddy daycare was with Eddie Murphy. Wtf is the Arnold movie I'm thinking of??? I suck at this kind of stuff.

There is a Pet Palace here that babysits down the street from where I work. Huge place. When we get back on our feet I'd like to go over and take a look and see what they have to offer Pearl. She has no manners and I think it would be good for her to interact and be around "mannered" dogs. I could visit her on my lunches and she would be tuckered out by the time she got home and wouldn't be such a maniac. KC was a good movie. Arnold cracks me up. @lamerchick, have you thought of getting a pet stroller for kitty and jogging with her. I want to get one for Pandie.

I think I love putting Buddha in doggy day camp almost as much as he loves going simply for the fact that he will come home so tuckered out that he's usually pretty mello the next day too. Plus, all the employees at Petsmart love him. As soon as they see him they shout "BUDDHA!!!" and give him loads of pets, which of course he loves. I bet Pearl would do really well at something like that. She seems like she has oodles of energy, which is always a good thing for day camp. : )

I'm going to give serious thought to it for sure. She's like on speed or something all the time. She was really good last weekend though. I think it's because I slept with her on the couch and she didn't have to be confined in the crate overnite.

Buddha has gotten so spoiled. He sleeps on our bed with us. He spends little time in his crate anymore. Do you have a laser pointer? That is one of our tricks for wearing Buddha out. He LOVES that thing. We make him chase the dot and he gets to the point where he just flops down with his tongue lolling out of his mouth while he pants. A few minutes later, he's calm and ready for a nap. : )

We've had her sleep w/us during naps but it's driving Pandora crazy. I have a pic of Pearl laying by Chris during one. So cute. We're going to have to go back to our rule of Pearl not being allowed in the bedroom It's Pandie's sanctuary and should stay that way. Bad Mommy and Daddy. I think we're going to get another gate so Pandie can come and go as she pleases in there. No laser pointer. Okay, I'm lookin into that right now.

Petsmart has a cheap one - something like $4.00 if I remember right.

My kitty loves chasing the laser. I'm always nervous it might hurt her eyes so I'm REAL careful and we don't play with it too much. She has some little mouse type toys that we like better and I rub catnip on them and she pushes them around the floor with her head and lets me scratch her tummy. :)Cats don't like to travel much Capri, I don't think a stroller would do it for her. It's enough to take her to the vet. She just mews constantly. She's much more content staying in her own surroundings I think.Lol that Pearl has no manners. too funny. :)Sounds like both Pearl and Buddha are just a tiny bit spoiled. :)

I think they would have a blast playing together. Too bad we're so far apart!

Haha! Buddha would love a playmate too. Luckily he's figured out how fun it is to stand on the couch and look out the window for hours on end. That's where he spends a good portion of his day while I'm at work. : )

Aw, see Pearl needs something like that. It would be nice to elevate her crate and put it by the window. I think I know how we can do that too with it being safe and not falling. @bellitude I was thinking the same thing about how we went from talking about the movie to talking about pooches.

Buddha is house broken, so I leave him out of his crate when I go to work (unless he hasn't gone to the bathroom before I leave, but that's only happened once since we started doing this). I just close all the doors and make sure there isnt' anything within reach that he can ruin. : )

I think my kitty sleeps all day. I can leave for work and come home and she's in the exact same place. But when I come in she'll get up and come rub on my legs. :) And sometimes she'll ask to be picked up. She's cute. I can kind of cross my arms and she'll lay down and let me scratch her neck. She LOVES having her neck scratched, especially on the sides.Lol @ bellitude. We get in some pretty interesting OT conversations from time to time. :)

Okay guys, get this e-mail my hubby just sent me. we need something to watch thts for sure. did you call joe about the title? when we make a beer run tomorrow,we`ll pick up some hairball remedy. pugsnot found one under the bed the size of a beer can.i`m surprised the cat didn`t choke to death.so then i had to chase as%^&#@ around the house 4 times trying to get it away from her. Lol, you two are hilarious Capri. I had a wonderful money saving thought just now. You know how people get bottled water delivered to thier house? You should get beer delivered. It could save you tons in gas money. :D

That ain't no lie!!!!!!! Geez, ML doesn't know what their missing out on. They'd be raking in the dough just from us alone. We have a pizza place across the street that delivers but only w/an order of food. Drag, man. Don't wanna be smellin pizza when we're trying to get our buzz on.

They deliver beer? How awesome. Maybe you can get the local distributor to send one of those beer trucks by your place a couple times a week. :)

Why not just get the person who delivers tot he pizza place across the street to make a stop at your place? It's not like he'd have to go out of his way to do it, he's already stopped right there!

There's probably some kind of dumb law about it. Alcohol laws are so whacko sometimes. Like you can't buy "real" beer in the grocery store. You can only buy near beer. You have to go to the party store to get real beer. I mean what's the point?

Holy cow. We'd die if we couldn't buy real beer here at out Kroger Grocery store. They just now opened up a liqueur store in it with real hard stuff. Not the cheap icky stuff. Before we had to drive 20 minutes to one just to pick up a bottle of Vodka.

So I love that this conversation started out about 10 Things I Hate About You and then turned into a mini Goonies conversation then a Gregsgal and Buddha conversation. I forgot what was being talked about at the beginning about half way through. Geezum Crow....LOL

Oh Adri, just you wait. There are SOOO many of these kinds of conversations between us all over the place.

Don't you just wish sometimes that Valentine's Day would burst into flames and that all of the happy, lovey-dovey, people could just keep it to themselves for 24 hours? When is the day for that? I vote that January 20th be Please Be Respectful of Others and Stop Reminding Everyone of How Great Things Are For You Day.

Ugh! I hate Valentines! It's another day to remind us of how much we do not know our significant other OR how lonely we are. What am I gonna do on Valentines day? Get drunk and watch The Boondock Saints. Hahaha!And I hate how some chicks are like "Oh look what he got me for V day?" I just want to shove the cutesy gift down their throat. Haha!Wow, I'm pretty bitter. Haha!

Yeah. Agreed. I have this glorious over-sized 42" plastic wiffle ball bat. It is just like the classic "big red bat" that kids have, but increased proportions for an adult. It turns wiffle balls inside-out.So I have half a mind to dress like a cupid this year and walk around all day and bash people in the back of the head with the thing. I could go into restaurants and wait for the first person to feed a chocolate covered strawberry to their date and then smack it for a home run.

Bam Bam says, "Bam! Bam!"

On second thought, rather than "bash" people, perhaps I should just "bop" them instead.

It seems there was a song once upon a time about bobbing people on the head. :)

LOLI used to go to the dinner and the movies alone on Valentines Day. As my way of "stickin it" to the love-dovey couples. To let people know that being single isn't all that bad. And I don't have to share my dessert or have someone to steal the remote from me!

AWESOME list idea! Last year, when I was single on V day (oh wait, that's like most of my past V days), I went to a massive pillow fight at the Embarcadero in SF and took out my aggression on random strangers. It was so much fun. It was even on the Today Show the next day. hahaha.

A massive pillow fight sounds like so much fun!! I would love that! But I have plans of plenty of alcohol and an ice hockey game. If I can't beat anyone silly at least I can watch my fav team beat the other team silly. :) And I'm hoping on of my K friends is gonna watch it with me, from afar though. :(

My husband and I don't celebrate Valentine's, it's mostly for those couple who like to celebrate their anniversaries by the month or even weekly. lol

Ha, ha! Aw, weslee... You guys are all haters! :) Am I the only one who likes the cheesiness of Valentine's Day around here???(And I have never celebrated a "monthaversary"! Ha, ha!)

Me neither, cristina. I'm totally supporting lamerchick because she is already dreading a V-Day alone, but I have to say I'm a big ol' Valentine sucker. (Ha!)

I just think that the premise of Valentine's Day is sad. Shouldn't we be showing people we love them every day of the year? Intead we have marked Valentine's as the only acceptable day to show someone how much we love them and do so by buying them a gift that probably wasn't all that heartfelt. Instead the entire act becomes a chore (which is how I feel Christmas is too). You do it because you have to, not necessarily because you want to. My husband and I make it a point to stay home and just enjoy one another's company instead by making dinner together and maybe watching a movie. We don't do gifts, we don't go out. It's just how I like it.

I think Valentines Day is way over commercialized, but it's still fun! Plus, any time of year that calls for mass chocolate manufacture can't be all that bad. After holiday candy clearance at Walgreens? YES!

I like to stay home - I usually cook dinner for my hubby - and we snuggle on the couch. (All the restaurants are usually freakin' crowded anyway!) But we are very affectionate and do this all the time anyway, so I like to get him something special like a DVD he really wanted to see or something for his Jeep. And I love cards, so he usually gets at least two or three (because you have to have at least one serious one and one sexy one).

I love that your husband gets you at least two cards. Do you know which one is the serious one and which one is the sexy one before opening them?

The sexy one always has smudgeprints on the envelope......

You all are so sweet. I wish I could go into the reasons I hate the day so much, but way tmi. Anyway, you all have really made me feel good. I was a little afraid to even start this list, but it's fun and somewhat therapeutic. Now all I need is my ax. ;)

I have been accused of being cold-hearted. :) But we are a little mushy, as seen in this pic. I guess to me gifts, chocolates & flowers mean more when they are unexpected.

I used to do the multi card thing...serious, sexy, funny, from the cat... for holidays. Now I have all that money to spend on shoes. :)

weslee, I certainly agree that it's nicer to get stuff randomly, but that doesn't mean I dislike the V-Day. I think maybe it has something to do with how cheesy Valentine's Day is. I really appreciate the fromage. :)

Now you're making me crave cheese. Thanks! Maybe this year I'll do a cheese fondue and some dark chocolate. And wine, of course.

I don't hate V-day, but I loved this list all the same :D
