Have you ever checked out www.topsecretrecipes.com? Some guy recreates recipes for food from restaurants or packaged foods (cheez-its, villa wafers, etc). A lot of the recipes are free and the ones you have to pay for at $.79 each, so you aren't breaking the bank if you decide to buy one. I was so excited to see that he had a recipe for Macaroni Grill's Penne Rustica (my favorite dish there). Haven't made it yet, but intend to soon. Posted by gregsgal at 8:38 AM on 1/15/09 Report Spam
No, I haven't. Thank you!! Off to check it out. :) Posted by lamerchick at 9:03 AM on 1/15/09 Report Spam
Oh my. I love it all. I'll be right over! Hehe. Posted by capri at 12:48 PM on 1/15/09 Report Spam
Between your list and Hophead's, I'm going to have a ton of cooking to do over the next few weeks! Hooray! I love cooking! Posted by gregsgal at 8:29 AM on 1/16/09 Report Spam
Lol, hophead got me started with the food list. I kept stealing hers and putting it on my apartment list until it started getting too big and needed it's own. I love to cook too but sometimes it really sucks to cook for just yourself. Posted by lamerchick at 8:37 AM on 1/16/09 Report Spam
I know what you mean. My husband goes on the road a lot, so when he's gone I have very little desire to go to all the effort of making food. I usually stick to salads and pasta when he's away! Posted by gregsgal at 9:06 AM on 1/16/09 Report Spam
Yeah, I go in spurts. I'll do the salad/pasta/yogurt/soup thing (not all at once lol) and then I'll cook and make a huge pot of chili and eat it for a week. And winter is hard because I love to grill and it's no fun when it's freezing outside. I got an indoor grill for Christmas and I've been playing with it. It's kind of cool. Not the same as outdoors, but better then nothing. I've made a steak and shrimp and a few other things on it already. Yummy. :) Posted by lamerchick at 9:20 AM on 1/16/09 Report Spam
I'm just thrilled that my apartment actually has a good sized kitchen, so it makes me want to cook more. I have an entire island that I can use for prep work and I love it. In our past apartments the kitchen was so tiny that I could hardly roll out pie crust (I make apple pies for my family and Greg's family get togethers when they are requested). Now all I need are the nice pots and pans and other kitchen gear to go along with the space! Posted by gregsgal at 9:30 AM on 1/16/09 Report Spam
A decent kitchen was on my shopping list when I was apartment hunting. I'd find really nice places with a closet for a kitchen. Uh uh. Even for just me, I need I place I can move and function. Posted by lamerchick at 8:36 AM on 1/20/09 Report Spam
i have no counter space whatsoever, its really hard to cook in my kitchen. :( i didnt really think of the importance of kitchen size when i moved. Posted by cupcakexo at 1:53 PM on 2/9/09 Report Spam
I can't stop looking at this list. I'm dying over here! Posted by capri at 7:03 AM on 2/18/09 Report Spam
Yummy!!!!!! Posted by vntgbabe at 6:06 PM on 2/18/09 Report Spam
I know it is a steakhouse, but next time anyone is in Vegas, you should order all of the potato appetizers (roaster fingerling, truffle mashed, gratin dauphinois, hell even the french fries!) off of the menu at Prime. Posted by hrothgars at 6:11 PM on 2/18/09 Report Spam
You all are so funny. :) I love to cook and eat. And eat good for me. Sigh. Don't see me going to the Bellagio anytime in the near future though. But thanks!!! :) Posted by lamerchick at 7:05 PM on 2/18/09 Report Spam
have you seen the food networks new magazine? omg, it has soo many great recipes. so worth the $15 subscription. or however much it is. they've had like little booklets inside the magazine that also have recipes. like one was 50 things you can do with a jar of pasta sauce. or 50 things you can top toast with. really creative and actually pretty cheap. check it out if you havent already. So many delicious recipes, so little time. Posted by crinaeae at 1:44 PM on 3/27/09 Report Spam
Right. This list is unfair. I had braces put on a week ago and am still on liquids. Looking through this list has been amazing yet painful. Good job though! Posted by x0xsharicex0x at 1:42 PM on 7/31/09 Report Spam
Thanks a lot, LC... Now I'm wicked hungry and want to eat like everything in this list. Geez... I'm trying to lose weight not gain more! ;-) Posted by adri_ba_dadri at 3:18 PM on 8/23/09 Report Spam
So...I get this feeling that you might like pizza? lol ;) Posted by kristy_k at 6:56 AM on 12/11/09 Report Spam
@kristy_k I think it's fair to say that. :) It's one of those foods that's good anytime of the day, hot or cold, and has a gazillion variations. Never boring. Or at least shouldn't be. Posted by lamerchick at 7:27 AM on 12/11/09 Report Spam
Make me food, LC.... It is now a requirement. : ) Posted by adri_ba_dadri at 9:31 AM on 12/11/09 Report Spam
Lol @adri_ba_dadri. I thought that was gregsgal's job. :) Posted by lamerchick at 8:59 AM on 1/22/10 Report Spam
Btw, did you two end your spat over how many times some things were on her list? Posted by lamerchick at 9:00 AM on 1/22/10 Report Spam
Yes we did. Apparently @adri_ba_dadri was drunk commenting on my list . :) Posted by gregsgal at 12:07 PM on 2/1/10 Report Spam
