Leather Leggings - To splurge, or not to splurge?

Of all the fall trends, I am absolutely OBSESSED with leather leggings. I want them so so so bad!They looked fantastic on the runway. So hot with a ruffle-front white/cream blouse, a fitted & well-tailored blazer, & some patent leather heels. Or a loose grungy tee, some bright jewel toned pumps, & a grandpa sweater. All of which I have right now...just waiting to be paired with the perfect leather leggings...The thing is, I'm not sure if it would be worth splurging on. Your basic...
