But now, now we are even happier, because our friends over at Areaware are distributing the Strida here in the US and they have just told us that the brand new version 5.0 is now finally available! So, what's new? Well, for once the plastic wheels are now gone and black anodized alloys are now in place. New disc brakes make you stop on a dime and the bike comes in a selection of fabulous colors. The frame is made of 7000 series aluminum, the hub is anodized silver alloy and the cranks are 4 spider cast aluminum. Well actually it was quite big. It was in a corner at Designersblock and it was a lot of iPod-esque little devices singing. Well not really singing, more lip synching. Yes, it is true, we haven't taken anything... They were a bunch of prototypes, all designed by Mr Jones aka Crispin Jones and once we took a closer look, we saw cute little USB creatures (think Tamagochi all over again) that you plug into one of the many USB hubs you have sitting around, and when Tengu picks up music, it starts to sing (or sync) along... Simply put your power strip or surge protector inside the Cablebox – no need to unplug anything beforehand – sort your cables with the included twist ties and close the lid. Voila, the mess is gone.
