After Carter opened the tomb of teenage king Tutankaum in the 1920's, a burst of designs inspired by the young king's grave goods appeared in architecture, textiles and jewelry. This Czechoslovakian bracelet is a particularly fine example of some of the glass and brass Egyptian revivival jewelry made in the 1920's. Five distinct panels depict diverse themes crafted from green glass, brass and colorful enamel. From left to right the panels depict; a musician flanked by birds and a winged serpant, the head of a king with an ornate lotus headdress and a base of red and blue paisleys, The mask of Tut himself surronded by the wings of the sacred vulture, the head of another king under the double wings of the vulture and flanked by a colorfull cartouche) and finally aother musician on a red and blue stake playing a harp. For it's age this braclet is in amazing shape, there is some breakage and wear to some of the grean glass and enamel, but the detail and 3-dimensional designs of this... See less
