(11/19/11) Bought these to extend the usage range of the Gamma MX trousers. After approx. 4 years use they've held up well despite being made of wool and being somewhat abused on the longer trips. Can't say that've had call to use the pocket but I guess it would function well as a security pocket. I can't say why but having experience of 4 brands of Merino wool the shrinkage in this garment has been minimal yet the other brands ( one very well known one in particular) it was substantial. Wonder if its to do with the Lycra content?? At a push I'd say that this product could be improved with a front opening. I use these when the weather is particularly cold/bad so it would be nice not to have to expose too much when taking a restroom break in the open. Activity Cold weather hiking/climbing etcSee less
