This Apple-a-Day lunchbag by Spool Sewing in Philadelphia might have been more appropriate. You'll save some trees and this cheery fabric is bound to bring a smile to your kid's face. Spool Sewing offers a sewing pattern with easy instructions for download ($5) on their website. For $22 they'll send you the full kit - pattern, outer and lining fabrics, interfacing and velcro so you can get started right away. Their collection of Character, lunch boxes, $24.50, are a fun choice for preschool lunches. This PVC-free lunch box is available in horse, dog, ballet slippers or polar bear.
