I do this technique on a lot of portraits. I first brightened the image by raising the midtone levels. then with the eyedropper select skin color close to the eye area, but before the darkness begins. With a light brush I paint over the bags. i always work in layers so I can adjust opacity if it looks to "fake". I dodged the eyes and teeth just a tad. Ran a soft glow action, masked eyes and mouth, to help even out the skin. then adjusted curves just a bit to ad more depth. Sharpened and viola! Fun thread! When we hired our wedding photographer, I didn’t want him to do any color corrections because I figured I could do it myself (and save extra $$$ at the same time). Little did I know it isn’t as easy as it seems. At the beginning of the week, Mrs. Lemon introduced me to Totally Rad Photoshop Actions. Actions are recorded steps you can use in Photoshop. You can use these actions to improve/color correct your photos. They are extremely easy to use, all you have to do is click the “play” button. Here is a picture from our after wedding photo shoot that I absolutely love. I attempted to edit it, using one of their sample actions called “super fun happy”: I played with it a little after I ran the action, and I think the outcome is great! I just couldn’t dump this idea though because I was attached to it. Luckily, we are having a cocktail hour so guests should have plenty of time to find their card…well, at least I hope so. If not they can sit wherever they want, I don’t really care.I decided to make our cards out of the copper flashing that I picked up from a hardware store many months ago and back them with paper. Many people instructed me to make half as many wedding programs as guests. They were absolutely right. I had 180 guests at the wedding and I crafted 110 wedding programs, yet still ended up with a handful left over. I remember right before I walked down the aisle, I passed by my basket of wedding programs and saw that it was still half full, which made me very sad. All that hard work and no takers. Well, people must have taken them home as keepsakes after the ceremony was over because when our coordinator gave us back our supplies, there were only five programs left! The process of making our programs was so fun! I edited the graphics in Adobe Illustrator and used InDesign for the page layout, which made everything a breeze. Our family and bridal party all got involved and it was truly a labor of love.   Here, our friends are lovingly helping us assemble everything during the week before the wedding.
