(04/05/09) After a weekend of torrential downpour, the sun has finally decided to shine! It may be a Monday, but the week has started off on a great note…not only with sunshine, but also with the excitement of Ashley and Charlie’s wedding ready to be posted! Kinda like this past weekend, Ashley and Charlie’s wedding began with couds and rain drops, but before wedding bells rang, the sun shined bright in congratulating the newly weds! Their absolutely breathtaking wedding was quite the Southern Soiree with elegance, simplicity, sweet tea, babby bonnets and little girls with eylette lace bobby socks. I don’t think I have ever seen so many precious little southern belles…so precious they almost stole the show! With so many priceless images, we only chose a few…with the rest in a slide show for you to enjoy! (11/28/08) Our next entry is from crafty bride Lauren and crafty groom Mike! Together, they made these beautiful tri-fold invitations from start to finish, including calligraphy! Instructions for making these beautiful invitations: 1. Print invitation, RSVP card, and RSVP envelope. Lauren and Mike had theirs thermographed. 2. Cut and score paper to desired length/width. 3. Mount invitation onto cardstock, then mount onto tri-fold. 4. Cut ribbon and form into a vertical holder for the inserts. 5. Close using a pretty matted name card with your guests’ name! (11/28/08) The RSVP packets have been received by the guests so now I can do the big reveal! A. and I went over many ways of including lots of information for all of my guests about my upcoming vow renewal, which is a three-day event, but all the ideas seemed so unoriginal. Then one day we hit upon the idea of vintage letters, which led to thinking of the containers of memories we all have stashed away. So in that spirit came my RSVP packets, designed to resemble a stash of memories in a vintage treasure box. {Image courtesy of Jenna} The “treasure box” is a DVD tin, painted, decorated and gocco’d. All of the amazing calligraphy you’ll see is courtesy of Laura Hooper. It’s her Elegance script and in my opinion, it really made everything perfect! Each of the words were hand-written by Laura; she then scanned and emailed them to me so that I could gocco all of the stationery and the tin itself. Their wedding included the cutest little flower girl! The first look! Hannah from Timberline Flowers did an amazing job on all of the florals, including beautiful pink bouquets… And absolutely stunning centerpieces! Yes, that is a horse and buggy - very Cinderella! DIY elements of Desiree and Travis’s wedding included their favors and programs, as well as a photo display. To create their edible favors, Desiree started by filling mini jars with M&Ms in their color scheme of pink and brown. She then printed her design on pink paper and punched into circles and glued to the tops of the jars. Simple and cute! (11/28/08) Wanwisa’s adorable brunch DIY continued with school-supply theme menus. Instructions: Keeping with the office-supplies/back-to-school theme from my invitations, I designed a menu using a college-ruled loose leaf paper design as my background. I found a great typewriter-esque font on dafont.com called Travelers Typewriter that had a little more edge than your run-of-the-mill typewriter fonts provided by Microsoft programs. I decided to add in lieu of a motif, a mini definition for the French phrase “Bon Apetite” and kept the print of it similar to how one would see it in a dictionary. I used a kraft-paper tan enclosure and despite the fact that the raised-textured faux bois design is not adhering to my theme, I wanted to include the detail as a nod to this fun and new trend in paper goods and home design. I designed four belly bands on one sheet of paper, sliced them down to size and wrapped them around the enclosure to keep my menu closed. The logo I used for my band was one of three...See less

(11/28/08) OK, OK, I know I’m a week late with this! But better late than never right? Here’s the tutorial for making my RSVP tin treasure boxes. I’m going to give you instructions for my specific design, but obviously you can change it up to go with your theme! This post is long, buckle up. {Image courtesy of Jenna} Instructions for the tin: The tin is a simple DVD tin, purchased from American Digital. To alter it, I used: * Delta Ceramcoat paint in Oyster White * Delta Ceramcoat metal primer * Delta Ceramcoat sealer * Grafix rub-on transfer paper * Gocco and Gocco hand-stamping kit * Natural and artificial bristle paint brushes Prepare your tin with a coat of metal primer using your artificial bristle paint brush. Let dry. Using your natural bristle paint brush and acrylic paint, cover the top of the tin with two coats, letting dry between coats. (11/28/08) I wanted to share my wedding invitations as an example of the stationary I handcrafted for our wedding. Unfortunately, I don’t have any invitations left, or even a picture. I spend dozens (and dozens!) of hours silkscreening my invitations, and I don’t even have one picture of all that work. This is why it is crucial to drastically overestimate the number of invitations you may need, if your family is as wishy-washy and uncommitted as that of my husband. Our limiting factor for our wedding was the space - our ceremony room held 180 individuals, maximum. Due to that constraint, we had an A list, and unfortunately, also had to have a B list. I had counted the number of invites I would need if we went through every single person on the A list and on the B list… and added 40, “just in case.” People, this STILL wasn’t enough. (10/03/08) Psssst…. Over here! SShhhhhh! Come closer. No, act casual. Listen! You want a sneak peek in on our Save the Dates? You’ve been so patient, I feel you deserve a little tease. Actually, I’m just so freakin’ excited I can’t contain it anymore! Behold, our Save The Date envelope—complete with the bad ass wraparound label the gals at Elizabeth Anne Designs* created for us, and the gloriously adorable “love: all heart” stamps. The actual STDs will arrive today, according to FedEx… but we wanted to be ready for them. Now we can just stuff, and send them off! What do you think? We used Paper & More’s Jupiter Red A7 envelopes, which are pearlescent. They have just the right amount of shimmer, without being “glittery”. They feel nice to the touch (don’t snicker, I’m a tactile gal), and are a really nice stock weight. I highly recommend Paper & More. Our postal carrier screwed up the delivery. Adi shot this gorgeous wedding ceremony (officiated by Jeremy’s dad!) at the First Methodist Church of Orange. I bet he just loves being called the son of a preacher man! Then, they headed off to one of our favorite stomping grounds, Rancho Las Lomas. I heard through the grapevine that J pursued L for many, many years until she finally agreed to go out with him. Gotta love the persistence.
