Cousins's signature bold acrylic illustrations outlined in thick black lines depict familiar objects such as a bed, table, closet, and bathtub, all set against a solid white background. When they lift the sturdy flaps, children will find Maisy along with a squirrel, elephant, duck, and alligator all hiding under, inside, or behind these objects. With simple one-sentence questions, the second book invites readers to guess where Maisy lives by showing dwellings such as a henhouse, pigpen, doghouse, and stable. The appropriate animals are discovered underneath sturdy flaps: "Oink! The pigs live here" and "Arf! The dog lives here."
