Steve Jobs was quoted as saying that people would erect entire cities around "It." An overstatement? You decide. It’s been nearly four years since “Ginger” was unveiled to the world as the “Segway Human Transporter,” and now that the dust has settled, it’s time to give “It” a second look. Recently, I had the opportunity to try a Segway i180, the latest model that was introduced last Spring. The i180 comes in assorted colors and is heavier with a slightly larger footprint than its predecessor, the p133. That’s because of the many improvements that have been made. It’s faster, sportier, and has bigger wheels with flared fenders. It also has two lithium-ion battery packs for a significant improvement in battery life, allowing for greater traveling distances.
