Small yet useful mini noteboooks are coming out this summer. They use the new Atom processor from Intel and have a 9-10" screen and (best of all) cost about 500 dollars or less.

Price for the 6-cell battery now up to $550 (3-cell $500) and it will be out in September 2008. Also these are also sold under the names Advent 4211 and Medion Akoya E1210 in various countries.

The Wind, equipped with a 10” wide (1024×600 resolution) LCD screen, provides better comfort while operating. In addition, the 1024×600 resolution can fully display WebPages which make it ideal for internet browsing.

MSI Wind looks to be the best one. The Linux version is $400, Windows XP $500. It has an 80GB hard disk instead of the flash memory that the other ones have. UPDATE: Looks like they don't sell this one, which is really too bad. I'm guessing they will hike up the price with $50 like with the Windows version.
