It's strongly biased towards my own needs and wants. With that said... I've had pocketable cameras for years, going back to the very first APS Canon ELPH, and also lots of relatively big SLRs, going back to a Konica FP I got in the mid-1960s. I've always felt that I needed (at least) one of each. (My main big cameras these days are a Nikon D200 and a Leica M8.) Until the G9 came along, probably the best pocketable camera that shoots raw was the Panasonic DMC-LX2 and its Leica equivalent, the D-Lux-3. I've had my LX2 for most of a year. I hate using the LCD for viewing, so the camera is seldom in my pocket, or anywhere else other than in a drawer in my office. Sometimes I wish I'd gotten a G7 instead, and maybe compromised on the raw part. But, as everyone knows or is rapidly finding out, the G9 shoots raw, so now there are two... See less
