Playing this game the first time is like playing go the first time: you are overcome by a sense that there is a tremendous amount of complexity in such seemingly simple rules. The primary difference is that, unlike go, Tsuro is comprehensible. The game board is a series of tiles that always interconnect. The player has a stone that must move along its path, and its path must always grow. The path you lay now can result in another player being forced off the board later, or for two player's paths to interconnect. As more players are added, the amount of complexity and strategy in the game increases exponentially. I played this game for the first time last night, and by this morning the people I was playing with had already tried out rules variants that utterly change the nature of play, as well as coming up with a light framework for gambling on it that we didn't try. I just discovered this game about three weeks ago, and it has replaced Settlers of Katan as my favorite family game because it is just as fun and a lot easier for younger children to learn and a game can be as short as 45 minutes. "Killer Bunnies" has that rare and wonderful balance between luck and skill. No one is ever completely out of the game, regardless of how well another player seems to be doing at any given time. Some of the weapons in the card deck can wipe out eight or nine bunnies at a time - allowing a player who has been behind in the game the entire time - the opportunity to take the lead if his opponents are unable to get bunnies for several rounds. Your two goals are to keep alive bunnies and collect carrots. When all carrots have been collected, the game ends and you'll find out which carrot is the "winning" carrot. I got the free promotional copy of Zigity when I bought Balloon Lagoon (another great game). The box didn't look very impressive, so I didn't open it right away. What an oversight! Both my 4 1/2 YO son & my 13 YO daughter love it. Zigity appears to be an educational cross between Uno and Rummy. The first player to fun out of cards wins. You get cards out of your hand by making "Sets" which can be words, numbers that add up to 11, matching instruments or a completed "puzzle". Making words is still a bit challenging for my 4 1/2 YO, but he can overcome that by making sets in other ways. And it didn't take that long for him to figure out how to add to 11. The deck also contains action cards that allow you to force your opponents to draw cards, reverse the order of play or avoid drawing cards yourself. My family really likes Cranium Whoonu, as do their friends who come to our home. We bring the game out 2-3 times a week and play a few quick rounds. As others have noted, you are given cards, one person is the "whoozit", and then you select cards from your hand that you think will be the whoozit's favorite thing. The whoozit then places the cards in order of preference next to point tokens - his favorite thing will be next to the highest point token, his next favorite thing next to the next highest point token, and so on. This ranking is actually a very nice feature of the game, EVERYONE ends up with a token so you don't have one child who ends up empty handed every time (as has happened to us with Apples to Apples, for instance). We are always amused and surprised by how the whoozit actually ranks his cards - who knew my oldest son hated zoos because of all the hills he has to walk? Turbo edition has all of the best elements of the original, including combining activities from other games such as Pictionary, Charades, Name that Tune, Trivial Pursuit, and others and putting them into one game. Yet the turbo edition ADDS new features, such as a musical timer that will also randomly select a category for the current team, Turbo cards that have more than one activity on them and determine how many spaces your team will move (depending on how many activities you complete), and new categories such as MINDMELD, where team partners write down what comes to mind when given a topic and must match at least one thing; ODD COUPLE, where team members must select the two things that do not belong out of a list of five; and SIDESHOW, where one team member must move another team member like a puppet to act out words on the cards.
