The 15W actinic tube is similar to a standard MV bulb in UV emission characteristics but emits a fraction of the visible light of a standard 125w bulb, this makes it ideal for trapping in gardens where the brightness of the standard bulb can be a problem with neighbours. The MBTF blended bulb requires no control gear and can be connected directly to the power supply although comparative catches with a 125w MV bulb suggest it is not as effective. See less
