(01/07/06) This section is for people who have NOT seen it yet: I just finished Season 1 of 24 and I can't believe I waited this long to watch it! Then again, I'm glad because I dont think I could endure having to watch it week to week - I just couldn't handle the wait and commercial interruptions! Really the best way to do it is on DVD because all the cliffhangers will make you keep watching - even if you know you have more important things to do or are up way too late on a school night. I know there have been a lot of reviews pointing out the flaws and I would have to agree that some plot points are so ridiculous that they will bother you, but do not believe for a second that they ruin the show or make it not worth watching. Overall, the show is just fantastic - a pure rush of pulse-pounding adrenaline. Kind of reminds me of the Amazing Race in a way - by the time you get to the end of an episode you just HAVE to watch the next one to see what happens. This is not a show to fall asleep to -...See less

(01/07/06) Introduction The movie"Shanghai Knights",directed by David Dobkin,is a funny and adventurous movie which you can watch if you had nothing to do. The Plot A chinese reble murdered John's(Jackie Chan)father and escapes to England. Now john and his friend,Roy(Owen Wilson),are going to London to get revenge for killing John's father.John and Roy met John's sister,Lin,while on the way and the three of them were going to get revenge together.Lin uncovered a worldwide conspiracy to murder the royal family but no one believe her. (12/29/05) I've watched Smallville on and off for the past few years, but never took the time to see it in sequence. The one thought that stuck with me through all of that was, "Why Lana? What is there beyond the (admittedly) beautiful face?" The writers created a much more intersting, engaging and real character in Chloe. This year I sat down and watched all the seasons sequentially, and finally started to warm up to Lana as a character. But it all slips away again in Season Four. The witch-reincarnated story line just does not meld well with the whole "Smallville" concept. Could work well independently, but not here. I enjoyed Jason early in the season before all the twists and family turns started emerging. As he became less sympathetic he just became kind of boring, and I started tuning out the whole Jason/Lana plot. That aside, I like Season Four. The opener is great - the scene where Clark flies is gripping. I really like the Lois character...although I don't know how the writers envision...See less

(12/28/05) I got this as a Christmas present at a Secret Santa giftswap and loved it. When I initially opened up the box my first impressions was: just another movie with Jeniffer Aniston from Friends..possibly boring. After watching it my worries have been completely lifted. This movie tells you about all the things in corporate America they never teach you about in business school: it teaches you how to not work and get promoted, how skipping work is ok, how to outpromote your boss and how to retire stinkin rich even if you are mildly retarded. It's a comedy that brings up front a bunch of guys from a 2000 bank software changeover company, the dreaded 99 going to 00 issue that was happening at the time, and their meaningless day to day jobs. The plot picks up as soon as Jennifer Aniston comes into the scene, a waitress in a dead-end restaurant where everyone is expected to do more than minimum but still receive minimum job satisfaction and respect. The main characther-programmer is so...See less

(12/28/05) I, Robot is the slickest sci-fi action film since Matrix Reloaded. The script has zero ounce of fat. Action sequences are as smooth as the surface of the futuristic-looking cars driven by Will in the film. The robots are tough, shining, graceful as the alloys of which they are made of. I only wish that George Lucas had used these robots in place of the dumb droids in Phantom Menace.See less

(12/28/05) This final installment of Star Wars shows how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. it is awesome. if you want to get your fill of lightsaber battles, this is the movie. there are four lightsaber battles in this movie. it also shows how Darth Vader became suited up. (that suit is actually life support keeping Anakin alive. he fell next to a river of lava and was immolated.) it shows the birth of his two kids, Luke and Leia, and how they were separated at birth after Padme died. the two droids were placed in the custody of the ship that Leia would eventually become a princess in. overall, I can't find any faults with this movie.See less

(12/27/05) Coming out of a strict religion in my late 20s (and having adhered to the more important parts of its moral code), I was able to identify with Andy Stitzer finding himself near middle age and still a "v." The personal verisimilitude made the movie all the more fun to watch, but also at times made me extremely uncomfortable. Certain scenes reminded me so much of my personal experiences that I had difficulty even watching them alone, and was unable to bear watching them with my wife. I commiserate with Andy's attempt in the restaurant to tell Trish he's a "v." I have a not-hazy-enough recollection of a similar conversation with a beautiful brown-haired Elizabeth I. in Oslo of all places, in 1992, and a scene in her hotel room that bore striking similarities to Andy's first encounter with Trish. It's one of those things you don't want to remember but can't forget no matter how hard you try. But enough of true confessions. Thank God I'm writing under a pseudonym. Anyhow, the movie has much...See less

(12/27/05) After a long break from good humour, season 10 was getting back on track again. The laughs in this season kept comming thick and fast. It's such a shame that that had to happen all at the end. Anyway, the best way to get Friends on DVD is to get all seasons in a big box, but if you are picking and choosing the best seasons only, then get this, because it's at the top of their game again. I still miss them and whilst I don't get sick of seeing the show over and over again, I still would like them to make some kind of tv movie or something where we can see more fresh 'episodes' and see where the creators think their characters are now.See less

(12/27/05) Batman Begins discards the previous four films in the series and recasts the Caped Crusader as a fearsome avenging angel. That's good news, because the series, which had gotten off to a rousing start under Tim Burton, had gradually dissolved into self-parody by 1997's Batman & Robin. As the title implies, Batman Begins tells the story anew, when Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) flees Western civilization following the murder of his parents. He is taken in by a mysterious instructor named Ducard (Liam Neeson in another mentor role) and urged to become a ninja in the League of Shadows, but he instead returns to his native Gotham City resolved to end the mob rule that is strangling it. But are there forces even more sinister at hand? Cowritten by the team of David S. Goyer (a veteran comic book writer) and director Christopher Nolan (Memento), Batman Begins is a welcome return to the grim and gritty version of the Dark Knight, owing a great debt to the graphic novels that preceded it. It...See less
