(11/18/11) Artist, mother and social entrepreneur, Rebecca Peragine, has combined her passion for global design with her desire to inspire children to celebrate eco-consciousness and the beauty of different world cultures. Children Inspire Design was born. It is a product line of modern, eco-friendly and culturally diverse wall art, wall cards and posters, full of whimsy, and designed to help children learn compassion for our earth and all who inhabit it. Creative recycling is at the heart of each design. Every image literally starts out as a pile of scrap papers from old magazines and other post-consumer paper sources. Rebecca then creates her signature art piece by piece by tearing the pieces of paper, assembling them according to their vibrant colors and drawing inspiration from her imagination and the life that each piece embodies. Many of the magazines she uses are written in other languages, thereby imbuing the art with the spirit of that language and the people it represents. Through...See less

(11/18/11) NEW sealed deck I Tarocchi Di Alan or Alan tarot deck. There is a nice booklet in Italian. The artist's name is Argio Orell. There are 78 cards measuring about 2 7/16" X 4 5/16". These incredibly beautifull cards are not tarot cards in the traditional sense and the 21 trumps seem more similar to tarock cards. If you pull the trumps out you have an amazing deck of playing cards. A divination meaning can intuited and I believe this deck could be useful on this score also. I've brought this deck to you because it is so beautiful and so unlike anything else, I hope you will enjoy it too.See less

(11/18/11) Here's an original collector's set for Disney fans who are looking for something different! This is the world's only "Disney Hanafuda" deck... Hanafuda is a famous Japanese card game, also known in the West as "flower cards" because of the beautiful seasonal flower designs that make up the 12 sets of the deck. The set is nicely packaged and comes complete with a rules manual. The cards are standard Japanese "hanafuda" size, i.e. smaller and stiffer than standard Western decks. They have green backs and edges. Each card has a Disney character on it. The blurb on the back of the box says, "This is a truly original product which depicts Disney Vision coupled with Disney Characters."See less

(11/18/11) The object of all kabufuda card games is to get a total closest to nine. Oicho-Kabu is a traditional Japanese gambling game similar to baccarat. The goal of the game is to reach a total closest to 9 without going over. As in baccarat, the last digit of any total over 10 makes your hand: a 15 counts as 5, a 12 as 2, and a 20 as 0. The name of the Japanese mafia, Yakuza, originates from this game. The worst Oicho-Kabu hand is 8-9-3, or “ya-ku-sa”. This gives a sum total of 20, or 0 points. The Nintendo Kabufuda Deck available here is the classic Japanese deck.See less

(11/18/11) Japanese Hanafuda Playing cards *Traditional Japanese Card game. *Brand new with case. *Cards are 5.5 x 3.5 cm or 2.2 x 1.4 inches and are made of durable plastic. *"Hanafuda" are Japanese playing cards. The name means "flower cards." They're printed on tiny pasteboards, about 2-1/2 inches by 1 inch. They have suites with things like the moon, plum blossoms, bush clover, and pine trees. Some of the card designs are quite beautiful, with things like deer in a maple forest, birds flying across a full moon, or irises in the rain. We played a game called koi-koi, which is a simple matching game. You pick up cards on the table by matching them to cards of the same suite in your hand. You try to get the highest scoring cards, and simple design changes on the cards, like a colored ribbon as part of the design, indicate the value of cards. It's mostly luck, or at least that's what I told myself as Mariko wiped me out in short order. If I had won, then I would have opined that koi-koi is a game...See less

(04/24/10) This distiller uses the same principles of alchemy developed 1,100 years ago by Alkindus, renowned as the "father of perfume distillation." The still has a copper frame and a cucurbit, condensing pot, and a cooling cup made from borosilicate glass--the same glass used in laboratory beakers for its durability and heat resistance. The cucurbit holds the liquid to be distilled and is heated by the oil lamp. As the liquid boils, oil vapor is produced and moves from the cucurbit through the swan-neck tube and, once it reaches the water-filled condensing pot, it is cooled and converted into a concentrated distillate. The distiller is mounted on a walnut base and its frame is made from five copper plates secured in place with copper rivets. Imported from Spain, the distiller is embossed with "Missisipi Destil," an homage to the distilling history of the American South. 11" H x 10" W x 7" D. (4 1/4 lbs.)See less

The first two cards on the top row feature artwork from films starring old school luchadores: Huracan Ramirez (1952), and La Momia Azteca (Attack of the Aztec Mummy, 1957). The third card appears to be a montage of publicity stills of wrestlers Mil Mascaras, Octagon, Fuerza Guerrera, and Perro Aguayo. The second row features more classic vintage lucha libre imagery from the following films: Santo vs. La Invasion de los Marcianos, (Santo vs. the Martian Invasion, 1966); Santo vs. las Mujeres Vampiro (Santo vs. the Vampire Women, 1962) and La Sombra Vengadora (The Avenging Shadow, 1956).
