Been waiting for months for Sony to get the pricing right on a 40in. set. Felt now was a good time. Excellent HD picture. Handles SD signal relatively well and better than most.I tried a 32' toshiba a few months ago but returned it for being too small. Set has all three tuners so just regular analog subscription gets you about 20 digital std channels, about 4 or 5 local majors broadcasting some HD morning news and prime timeshows. For LCD newbies wanting to keep SD programming for now, this size set gives you about a 33' 4:3 analog/std picture. And pic adjustment features allow you to tweak poorer sd signal enough to be satisfied watching sd quality. So I went from an old27' to 33' std pic. I liked the result.
