It is said that his 1950's lively and feminine designs were inspired by his wife. This is a good example of that, I think. A curvy yet long and lean silhouette with a lattice style halter neckline, with plunging back. Fitted at the waist, ankle or slightly above length skirt with perfect side slits. The dress is made of cotton, and lined in cotton. The bold plaid print is a great and humorous contrast with the summer halter style. The colors are white, black and true red (not orange red, more blue red). The halter neckline and side slits are done in black cotton piping. The double straps are of same fabric. The gown fastens in back with metal zipper. While it has no belt, I think there probably was one originally. I am showing the gown with a black ribbon.
