So yesterday I took myself to Toni & Guy here in Portland, Oregon, where a brilliant woman named Rabecka L. B. Ruberg gave me a sexier, more sophnisticatedly deranged version of the haircut my best friend gave me in 1979. I think she actually performed a Vulcan Mind Meld during the shampoo, as she could not have come any closer to what I had in my mind's eye--i.e., Catherine Deneuve if she'd been one of Charlie's Angels.
